ELITE Dance

Dance Force Rules

Members of the ELITE Dance Force are chosen by teacher observation.

Commitments & Expectations

Membership in ELITE Dance Force requires both time and financial commitments from members and their families.

Failure to comply with the Dance Force rules may result in dismissal from the team. All members and a parent
or guardian will be required to sign the membership contract.

Attitudes & Sportsmanship

Members should keep in mind that Dance Force is a "team" effort. Everything we do, we do as a team, so it is important
that students cooperate and respect one another. Parents and teammates are also expected to conduct themselves with
good sportsmanship and positive attitudes while attending contests and shows.

Rules For Competition

All students and parents are to represent ELITE Dance Force with good sportsmanship toward other studios and its members.

  • All students should arrive one hour ahead of their scheduled performance time. Some contests actually run ahead of schedule.
  • Late arrivals are not acceptable. You will be given ELITE Emergency Cell Numbers to contact if needed.
  • Dressing areas always tend to be a bit congested. Please be considerate to others who are sharing the dressing area.
  • All Dance Force members should be present on stage for the awards. Each student should wear the red ELITE studio shirt and black jazz pants.
  • One student from each dance routine will be chosen to accept the award and ribbons for that particular group. Usually,
one studio trophy is presented to the group and each participant receives a ribbon.
  • Dance Force members and parents are not allowed to discuss scores, judge's comments, or final awards with the judges.

Classroom Rules

hese rules must be followed in order for our Dance Forceclasses to run smoothly and effectively. Be sure to inform your teacher
in advance of any pre-planned vacations or school conflicts.

  • Attendance is mandatory! We cram a lot of choreography into our 1-week sessions. If you miss 1 practice, you could miss 5 or 6 steps. Any and all class conflicts must be discussed with the teachers before being considered excused.
  • Dress code is important. Members should wear black dancewear, appropriate shoes, poms etc.
  • Members are expected to be on time and ready at the start of class. Tardiness is disruptive to the class.
  • Members should always show respect to teachers and fellow students. Remember, we are a team and we have to work together at all times!
  • Bottled water will be accepted in the classroom. No snacks please.

Fundraising & Parent Meetings

The Dance Force Board Members and parents will handle all fundraiser ideas and information. The board will schedule
their own meetings to discuss fundraising ideas. This group will be responsible for letting members and parents know
when the meetings will be held and when fundraising money will be due. Contact the fundraiser representative for more information on fundraising.

Workshop

It is recommended that Dance Force members attend one professional dance workshop. We are looking into workshops that
will be held in the spring. Entry fee deadlines will be announced later.

Viewing

Dance Force has no viewing throughout the year.

Performances

The studio is often called to make appearances at shows and events. This is a great opportunity for our Dance Force members
to practice in front of an audience and work on their showmanship and stage presence.

Such events may include festivals, nursing homes, ball games, recitals, contests and parades.

Birth Certificates

We will need a copy of all members’ birth certificates as proof of age. Please turn the birth certificates in to your teacher by Oct. 11.

Failure to comply with the ELITE Dance Force rules could result in dismissal from the team.
