Mission Statement

Our mission at ELITE Dance and Acrobatics is to help our students to develop a strong sense of confidence, respect, and self-discipline while enjoying the art of dance and acrobatics. The most important thing we do as teachers is to inspire our students to believe in themselves.

Classes Offered

ELITE offers classes in Modern Jazz, Hip-Hop, Poms, Cheerdance/Drill Team, Tap, Clogging, Lyrical, Ballet, Pointe, Acrobatics, Character, Novelty, Musical, and more. All students are placed into classes according to age and/or experience on a trial basis. A student may be moved to a different level at the teacher’s discretion. Special sessions of Karate, Cheerleading, Aerobics, Balance Beam, Country Line, and Mommy & Me may also be offered each year. Mommy and Me classes are offered to young toddlers ages 18 months to 2 years. This class will offer young children an opportunity to explore movement through dance while learning to focus their energies. These little students will be featured in the annual dance revue with an adorable routine and unforgettable costumes!

Class Size

There must be at least 4 students enrolled in a class. If a solo, duet, or trio is desired, it may be available at a special time slot with the teacher’s permission. Group classes vary in size with an average of 6-10 students.

Monthly Newsletter

Be sure to get a copy of ELITE News from your teacher each month. ELITE News contains the calendar of current events, new classes being offered, workshop dates, costume and recital information, and more.

Class payments are due at the first lesson of each month. A drop box is located in the entry for your convenience. Payments can also be mailed to ELITE Dance and Acrobatics, P.O. Box 1764, Martinsville, IN, 46151. If you pay after the 10th of the month, you will be assessed a $10 late fee. To ensure safety and efficiency, please pay by check or money order. A fee will be charged for all returned checks.Tuition remains the same each month regardless of the number of weeks in the month. We understand that some months are longer/shorter than others. We have averaged the yearly tuition to twelve payments to make it easier on everyone. There are approximately 47 lessons per year.

Attendance

Please call to report any absences. If you have an excused absence (i.e.. school event, illness, hospitalization, death in family), you may attend another regularly scheduled class. The lesson can be made up within one month from the absence. Schedule your make-up lesson with your teacher immediately upon returning to class. No make-up lessons are allowed during viewing week or during the months of May or June. All students are expected to keep good attendance and attend class regularly. Those students who have perfect attendance for the full year (with no make-up lessons) will be recognized at our annual revue.

ELITE promotes a healthy environment. Do not attend classes if you are contagious.

Weather/Snow Closings

In the case of bad weather, listen to WCBK 102.3 FM radio and /or tune in to WRTV Channel 6. Elite will make every effort to stay open. All cancelled classes will be rescheduled.

Holidays

ELITE will be closed for the following holidays/vacations: Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter Break (2 weeks, December 24 - January 6), Memorial Day, Independence Day, and teacher’s vacation (1 week). Monthly class fees will remain the same. These vacation days were figured into the annual tuition amount.

Class Changes

Notify ELITE as soon as possible if you want to add, drop, or withdraw from a class. If you decide to withdraw completely from ELITE, the PARENT/GUARDIAN must notify us immediately. You are responsible for payment up until the time that we are informed.

Class Viewing

In order to keep distractions at a minimum, class viewing is limited to the last week of the following months: January, March, May, July, September, and November.

Annual Revue

ELITE Dance and Acrobatics annual revue is planned for June. Costumes are ordered in January and are distributed in May. There is a family fee for attendance and participation in the revue (due in April) so that individual ticket sales are avoided. You can invite all of your friends and family members to attend at no charge to them. Participation in the revue is optional, but highly recommended. Participants must also attend the mandatory on stage Full Dress Rehearsal. The revue is a great opportunity for the children to show what they’ve accomplished over the year. All participants will receive an achievement award.

We may hold a smaller holiday show in November or December each year as time allows. There will be a small family fee and the costumes will be simple and economical.

Special Events

ELITE Dance and Acrobatics also offers other extra-curricular events such as parades, workshops, nursing home performances, county fair/festival entertainment, holiday events, and competitions. Keep your eye on the Elite news for exciting opportunities.

Dance Force

Students who are more serious about their dance/acrobatics training may audition for the Dance Force. This competition team requires a greater time and financial commitment on the part of the student and their family.

Safety

Parents/guardians are responsible for their child’s behavior outside of the classroom. Please do not leave them unsupervised and do not allow them to run. No children should be allowed to stand on chairs/benches. Please do not allow students to cross the street unsupervised.
